Safety Management Systems

Client specific service provided
Trained consultants with auditing and business experience are employed to ensure that the best possible knowledge is available to design and implement an OHS program that is tailored to meet the clients’ individual needs.
A consultant, with the necessary industry knowledge, is allocated to a project thereby ensuring the consultant gets to know your business intimately and thereby ensuring solutions are offered that will work in your environment.
The Management of Just 4 Safety also provides regular feedback reports to our clients on work done by our consultants.
Consulting
In order for us to understand a client’s needs and build a long-term, sustainable relationship, we start our process by doing a basic survey. Naturally each client is unique and therefore we gather all the necessary information regarding the client’s business model, business culture, existing safety management system and needs and ethics. After compiling and analysing all the above-mentioned information, we determine the best-suited solutions for each client. The cost of any project will depend on the complexities of the working environment, the risks of your site, the status of existing health and safety program (if any) and your certification/compliance goals. Contact us for your free consultation. Our qualified consultant will advise you on the steps needed to becoming OSH compliant.
Risk Assessments
The most critical aspect to start off with would be the Risk Assessments – Baseline Risk Assessment, and then the Issue Based Assessment which look specifically at the individual risks associated with each task, plant equipment, machinery, installation and job-function. It is critically important to ensure everyone understands all risks they may face in the normal performance of their work.
Safety File
A Health and Safety File, otherwise known as a ‘Safety File’ is a record of information focusing on the management health and safety on construction sites for contractors and sub-contractors.
It protects the employer from criminal liability and proves compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
Every Safety File is client specific.
A safety file must be based and developed around the risks relevant to a specific site where the work will be done. We pride ourselves on our quick turnaround time.
Evacuation Plans
We offer a complete service to assess your premises and design an evacuation plan to suit your specific layout.
Evacuation plans are a vital part of a building’s fire management plan and crucial to emergency evacuation procedures.
Your evacuation plan must be designed according to SANS 23601: 2010 which specifies the principles for a comprehensive and detailed plan outlining relevant fire safety, escape, evacuation and the rescue of the facility's occupants.
Evacuation Drills
SANS 10400; SANS 1475 part 1 and SANS 10105 all regulate the national requirements for Fire Safety.
This is complemented by by-laws from local authorities.
Read with the OHS Act, the onus of providing a safe environment for all persons on your site is an unavoidable requirement.
This includes the need for Emergency Planning, Evacuation Planning and regular Emergency Evacuation exercises.
Evacuation drills should be tested once every 3 months, but no less than once every 6 months.
This should be done in line with your evacuation policy, and the plan used should be site-specific, considering the number of persons at any given time, specials needs like geriatric persons, people with physical disabilities like bad eyesight, hearing loss, etc. All of which must be part of the system.
